Who is this guy, and what makes him think he can write comedy?
Background of A Comedy Writer
Why comedy and why freelance comedy writing? |
Hey. I'm Nick, and I love making people laugh.
Quick backstory: Fat kid from a big family who tried just about every sport in the world that leads to brain injury. Football? Done it. Boxing? Been there. Competition cattle steering? You bet. Wanted to be a chef because I loved the kitchen life: no one bothers you there and you're part of a strange subculture that stands up for you in a fight but does nothing but insult you the sixteen hours a day you're working with them. Parlayed all this into a stand-up comedy "career" in Austin, TX that led to several broken relationships and a case of 'Pimp Juice.' Met a girl out of my league who didn't want to marry a guy who would be gone at night, so dropped stand-up, got married, and started a family. Now that we got THAT out of the way... I still write freelance comedy because I know two things: good comedy is hard to find (so there's always room for funny writing), and so many people looking for comedy are disappointed with the service and results they get. While comedy is indeed a creative endeavor, my intent is to pursue it as a business, creating a great product while delivering unparalleled service. I'm not afraid of rewrites, have a thick skin, and - at the end of the day - want to make your audience laugh and remember you. |

Let me know. Again, I swear by my commitment to quality comedy writing from concept to production.
